Wedding stationery timeline - what and when!

You’re engaged! Congratulations!

You’ve got a beautiful ring, an amazing proposal story and a million and one wedding ideas flying around your head.

Some of you might be thinking:

“Where on earth do I start?!?”

or

“What do I need to do first?”

Don’t worry! I Love and Love are here to help you with all of your wedding stationery!

Before the big day

Engagement announcement cards

Engagement party cards

Some couples like to send out announcement cards to let their loved ones know that they are tying the knot. This can be done straight away and is such a lovely touch!

An alternative to the engagement announcement cards are of course engagement party invitations. We love a good party, especially an engagement party! It gives everyone a chance to drool over your gorgeous ring, hear about the proposal and get excited about your big day.

All of our collections are available as engagement announcement cards and engagement party invitations– just let us know which one and we can get to work!

Save the date cards

Save the date cards are usually sent out to family and friends approximately 6-12 months before your wedding; sometimes further in advance if you are having a destination wedding (although it is entirely your preference!).

The save the date card lets your wedding guests know that date and time of your big day, and also gives your guests a glimpse of your wedding theme, and what they can expect!

Our save the date cards are also available with a magnetic side (one side printed only, please contact us for details). These are great! Your guests receive a traditional save the date card that can be put on their fridge. Handy!

Wedding invitations

Your invitations are usually sent out 2-3 months before your wedding (possibly further in advance if you are having a destination wedding).

Your invitations hold every vital piece of information surrounding your wedding day – the date, time, place and any additional information you wish to provide.

Not only are they important in informing your guests, they are going to excite your guests and fill them with anticipation for your big day.

If you have a gift list, maps or any additional information that you’d like your guests to be aware of, we produce matching additional information cards that can be printed on both sides if required!

RSVP cards

We also recommend that you pop an RSVP card in with your invitation. Not only can you keep tabs on who is attending your wedding, they are also a lovely keepsake for you to hold onto.

Putting a date of reply on the RSVP card encourages your guests to let you know that they can attend by a specific date – this not only helps you with your planning, but your venue will most likely be asking you for confirmed numbers.

On the big day

The day is nearly here!

You will have viewed various venues, maybe chosen your cake, picked songs for a wedding playlist and perhaps found the dress of your dreams!

Hopefully your guest list is now confirmed and you can start choosing your on the day wedding stationery. Items such as your orders of service (if required), menus, tables names or numbers can be ordered once your choices are confirmed, but perhaps leave your guest place names and table plan a little longer just in case you have unexpected cancellations.

We recommend ordering your on the day stationery at least 6-9 weeks prior to your wedding day. Please do check with us to ensure that we can get your items to you within your time frame.

Thank you cards not only thank your guests for their attendance and gift(s), but they are also a lovely memory and keepsake for your guests of your special day.

With all the excitement and buzz surrounding your wedding day and honeymoon, thank you cards can sometimes be forgotten about. Why not order them along with your other wedding stationery and get everything organised and ticked off! Our collection designs are also available as thank you cards – we can also provide a folded card option if you’d prefer - just contact us for more info!

We hope this post has helped to calm any worries you have surrounding your wedding stationery.

If you need any help or advice you can email us here or give us a call.

Enjoy EVERYTHING and have fun.

Sending love and love!

Amy x
